Founded in 2017, WineSiders is an independent wine appreciation organization created to draw attention to wines from the world over. Participants include wine sales representatives, restaurant owners, buyers, sommeliers, wine consultants, and winery owners.
WineSiders was started by two longtime wine insiders, Andy Abramson, and Jordan Ogron.
Ogron is managing partner of West Hollywood’s Tesse Restaurant and Boutellier wine merchant. Before starting Tesse, Ogron was the GM and wine buyer for Herringbone in Santa Monica, CA. That followed his role as GM of Beverly Hills’ Hakkassan after serving as head of F&B at The Standard and as GM of both Fig & Olive and Bestia.
Abramson, a regular fixture on the Southern California wine scene, is CEO of two marketing communications agencies, Comunicano, and Brand Communication Design. He is the first Californian ever to be Knighted by the Chevalier du Commanderie (Faugeres France Conferie) and serves as the US Ambassador for the Grenache Association. Abramson is also the proprietor of the Comunicano Wine Company, a winemaking collaboration with Doug Margerum of Margerum Wine Company. Previously Andy was the wine columnist for the Del Mar Times in San Diego County, CA.
An original wine blogger, Andy’s wine website, WineScene has been active since 2003, continuing his prior efforts of WinePals’ RoadReports series and previous editorial contributions to WineLoversPage and the Compuserve Wine Forum since 1985.
